War would have only couragr her poorer with all the resources being directed towards war and she followed what basic economics directed her. This production was free to the public and played to full houses at the Public Theater’s Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

Maybe that’s what Brecht’s intentions were. Its very tongue in cheek and blatantly disregards ’30s propaganda.
